Faith's Birthday

Faith turned 2! We still can't believe we have a little girl. She is very nurturing and loves to mother but she fits in with the boys flawlessly. She is sweet but like any two year old she is also quite a handful. The words that most frequently come out of her mouth are “more a lot!” She can never quite get enough of whatever it is she is currently enjoying.  Perhaps this next year she’ll swap those words around. She says “Hi, ChanChan!” as sing-songy as can be and the rest of us have adopted this nickname for Channing. Ethan  is “E.T”. and Dylan is not quite Dilly and not quite Dolly but a strange combination which comes out as “Dally.” Everything to Faith is blue, which leads me to believe that this is her favorite color. She also loves to sing and dance and, of course, mother her dollies.
Faith ended up having strep throat on her birthday but she managed to squeeze out a smile or two for us. She also said her first prayer, repeating the words after Chris. We were all tickled and smiled at each other throughout, somehow she managed to keep her eyes closed.

Grandma and Grandpa gave her a super girl outfit.
She thought her outgrown stocking hat completed the look.
Clearly she takes this super hero stuff very serious!

End of 2011 photos

We were able to visit family in North Carolina and Georgia over Thanksgiving. Aunt Krissy and the girls came to visit in December. We had a great time making gingerbread houses and playing games. Santa paid us a visit. And I continue to fall in love with these dear faces every day, thought I'd share a few of my favorites

Look-a-likes Faith and Jessica

Chris had his first TDYa few weeks after we moved in.
These words came to mind while I was taking a break for myself while he was gone.

Today was a good day
I didn't scream or shout
managed to take the garbage out

Kids ate breakfast lunch and dinner
I may even look a little thinner

Gave the kids their money for last week's chores
I must even admit to missing Chris's snores

Life without him is a bit harder
but building a bookshelf on my own made me feel smarter

Bought Christmas presents though just a few
Even remembered scotch tape so this year I won't have to use glue!

Kissed a baby, tickled a son
had some laughs even though
during cops and robbers I got shot by a gun

Did the laundry even spraid for a stain
Remembered the fabric softner and our clothes smell like rain

 Now Ethan is hungry...Oh man!
Obviously I must drop everything
I guess its not much...just this crayon

So I guess I'll have to get off my rear
Darn it, I was rather liking it here.

Happy New Year 2012

In the spirit of New Year's I have resolved to update my blog! Yay! This will be done with way too many photos since I think my family is so stinking cute!
So some time toward the end of May we got word that Chris's job might be moving our family to the DC area. This happened the same day his mom was signing a contract to work as a PA at the base we were stationed at. Grandma and Grandpa were such good sports that they moved here anyway to spend time with us. We loved having their company! No news is reliable until orders are in hand so it took us a while to spread the word and I didn't want to post anything until the move happened . We finally received orders just weeks before scheduled move time! Needless to say we are so happy to be here in northern Virginia. We miss Nebraska and the dear residents that became our friends but are thrilled with this new adventure. One month before the move we had a baby! Channing Dale was born September 6th, 7lbs 15 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. He is super delightful, smiles and laughs a whole bunch and none of us know what we'd do without him. Faith is a good mother in training to him and it is so fun to watch.
We lived in a hotel for a few days shy of 2 months while house hunting! You heard me right! And somehow we all still like eachother. We closed on our home at the end of November and are now settled. We had a nice break for Christmas and just celebrated Faith's birthday.
Please come visit! We have a nice cozy room ready and waiting for anyone excited to see the sights of DC or for anyone excited (or obligated) to see a few cute kids and their parents.
Grandma and Grandpa moving in. Little do they know what they are in for!

Dylan and Ethan's first mountain bike race. They both placed well despite their lack of updated biking apparel. They were the only ones with preschool helmets. Their heads have since been properly outfitted.
Pre baby airshow.

Our Nebraska girl, eating the best food Nebraska has to offer.

Uncle Curt and Hudson came to visit.

We sold our home on our own in what seemed like record time... especially for this market.
Compliments to Chris for designing a beautiful house.

Losey Family Reunion 2011 at our home in Papillion.
We had a blast!

Sweet baby Channing

Uncle Marshal and Aunt Gina made it out for Channing's blessing.
